Solutions Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Solutions Engineer who will lead the technical side of Datafold pre- and post- sales. Relying on your expertise in Data Engineering, you will work directly with our customers to understand their current data quality and productivity challenges, then design and implement the best solution leveraging the Datafold platform.

An ideal candidate for the role is an experienced Data Engineer or Solution Engineer from the data space with strong Software Engineering fundamentals who is passionate about finding ways to "do data better" through building valuable tools and sharing knowledge to empower others.

What you’ll do

• Work with customers and prospects evaluating Datafold, as part of the deployment process of our application; integrating and adopting our product in their workflows.

• Partner with Account Executive on new business and upsell opportunities specifically on securing the technical win.

• Identify potential blockers for customers in adopting Datafold and overcome them through building solutions, creating GTM assets, educating the users, and collaborating with our team.

• Identify product improvement opportunities and communicate them to our team.

• Provide thought leadership to our customers, our team, and the broader Data community on the best ways for doing high-quality data engineering by creating content, leading demos, and participating in discussions & conferences.

What we value

• Strong data engineering background

• Knowledge of ETL/ELT patterns, data warehousing and orchestration (e.g. Airflow, dbt). Strong knowledge and foundation in dbt a must have.

• Advanced knowledge of SQL; working knowledge of Python

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Ability to handle and effectively resolve conflict and manage customer accounts

• Excellent listening skills, empathy, and ability to connect with people of various backgrounds, technical abilities, and cultures

You'd be an exceptionally strong fit if you:

• Dbt experience is a requirement.

• Have experience with infrastructure and DevOps (AWS, GCP, CI/CD)

• Have advanced knowledge or have worked on database migrations
