Abi Global Health was brought to life in 2016 through the shared vision of Kim-Fredrik Schneider and Dr. Victor Vicens. They were united by a fundamental belief: healthcare should be convenient, readily accessible, and consistently excellent for everyone. Recognizing an untapped opportunity within the burgeoning field of telemedicine, they set out to create an innovative service unlike any before – medical micro-consultations. Kim-Fredrik Schneider, with over 15 years of leadership in high-growth tech firms across Europe, the USA, and Asia, brought his extensive business acumen to the venture. Dr. Victor Vicens, a medical doctor with experience practicing in Barcelona, a residency at Mount Sinai in New York, and part of his medical degree in France, contributed his deep understanding of the medical field and the existing challenges within telemedicine. He had witnessed firsthand that traditional telemedicine often struggled with scalability, high costs, and low user engagement, particularly before the global pandemic accelerated its adoption.

The core idea was to develop a virtual health assistant, aptly named Abi, that would empower users to send their health-related questions to licensed doctors directly from their preferred chat applications like WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber, Skype, and even SMS, anytime and anywhere. This approach was designed to meet people where they already were, removing common barriers to accessing medical advice. From its inception, Abi Global Health was envisioned as a multinational entity, driven by the moral imperative to make improved health outcomes a global reality, not just a privilege for wealthier nations. The service was engineered with integrated AI and machine learning from day one, designed to classify user questions and efficiently match them with the most suitable available doctor. This technological foundation aimed to radically transform the 'first mile' of healthcare, making the initial step of seeking medical guidance significantly more efficient. The company's mission has always been to make professional healthcare as easy to access as advice from a friend, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG-3) to “ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.” Today, Abi Global Health operates in numerous countries and languages, partnering with insurance companies, pharmaceutical organizations, and other businesses to integrate their AI-powered, doctor-delivered micro-consultation service, striving to make healthcare radically accessible worldwide.
