We are thrilled to introduce the role of Director of Content, the first of its kind at Darkroom. As a core member of our Revenue team (which houses Sales and Marketing for the Darkroom brand), you will be the key ingredient in building, managing, and iterating on Darkroom’s demand generation engine. Your major responsibility will be working with our Revenue leader to grow Darkroom into high double-digit growth YoY. Core metrics will be evaluating social metrics, community growth, lead generation, and revenue, the north-star metric.

Our Director of Content will be a creative-first individual with an exceptional ability to create content across organic social, paid ads, website, and other more niche marketing programs. This individual will be the major creative force behind the Darkroom brand. This position is part brand-director, part head-of-marketing, part designer. We realize certain individuals may have different mixes of skills that don’t check off all the boxes per-se, so we are interested in interview all candidates that check-off at least two thirds of the following requirements:

ALL RESPONSIBILITIES::

  • Can effectively understand and digest vision of the founders to create strategic marketing roadmaps that grow audience, and maintain brand integrity.

  • Highly adept at coordinating multiple marketing channel activities including in-person events, webinars, newsletters, all major social networks, and paid acquisition campaigns.

  • Consistently develops and deploys creative content (including Reels / TikToks / Short Form Video) on LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. Visual work will include a mix of Podcast clips, speaking bits, original content, ugc content, and produced video.

  • Responsible for coordinating a consistent cadence of founder-led content writing.

  • Ensure high-quality work output from creative direct reports, focusing on visual craft, UX expertise, and meeting deadlines.

  • Leads and approves of all Darkroom branded assets, voice, and depictions across every major marketing channel.

  • Strategically spearheads the development of Darkroom’s community around education, currently housed in the resource section of our website (Podcast, University, Events)

  • Develop component systems and maintain design guidelines for consistency.

You Should Apply if this Sounds Like You:

  • HIGH SENSE OF OWNERSHIP AND STRONG WORK ETHIC

  • 3-6+ years of senior-level design, marketing, or creative experience, with at least 1 year of people management experience preferred. Must have experience in creative or design, with an obvious taste profile that meets Darkroom’s standards.

  • Digital portfolio showcasing past digital work.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.

  • Experience collaborating with video editors, other designers, and developers.

  • Capable of providing constructive internal feedback and guiding direct reports to improve their work.

  • Ability to tackle ambiguous problems, understand business challenges, design solutions, and execute them effectively.

  • Proficiency in Figma, including features like Auto Layout, Components, and Variants, is essential.

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) is required.

  • Bonus: Experience working with Framer CMS.
