Founded in 2015 by Stuart Sopp and Trevor Marshall in New York City, Current has grown to serve over six million members across the United States. We built our own proprietary banking technology called the Current Core, which significantly lowers the cost of maintaining accounts compared to traditional banks operating on legacy infrastructure. This allows us to eliminate or dramatically reduce fees for our customers.

Our mobile-only approach means members can access their money anywhere, anytime. We offer fee-free overdraft protection, early access to paychecks up to two days before payday, savings bonuses up to 4.00% APY, and innovative credit-building products like our Build Card. Unlike traditional banks, Current has no annual fees, no minimum balance requirements, and no overdraft fees. We process directly with Visa and partner with Cross River Bank and Choice Financial Group for FDIC insurance coverage.
