Network Engineer

We are seeking a Network Engineer with deep experience in cloud-native networking and enterprise infrastructure. This role is responsible for designing, automating, and deploying containerized network infrastructure in AWS, while also supporting enterprise network solutions across offices, data centers, and public cloud environments. The ideal candidate combines strong network engineering fundamentals in Cisco routing, Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure, Palo Alto firewalls, and has programming and automation skills, who can thrive in a datacenter hybrid, and multi-cloud architecture

We are looking for a Network Engineer who will:

• Build and automate network infrastructure containers in AWS using tools like Terraform, Python, and Kubernetes-native frameworks.
• Analyze business and technical requirements to design secure, scalable, and resilient network solutions across corporate locations, data centers, and cloud environments.
• Lead planning and design of LAN, WAN, WLAN, firewall, VPN, DDoS mitigation, and cloud networking technologies.
• Design, plan, and implement network, security, and monitoring technologies such as routers, switches, firewalls, performance monitoring, and WAN accelerators for office locations, data centers, and public cloud environments. This includes recommending solutions, creating project plans, developing configuration standards and, where appropriate, developing workplans or reviewing workplans of others to ensure proper implementation.
• Recommend and implement process improvement and automation. Acts as the technical lead in the execution of all aspects of site-planned and unplanned maintenance activities in accordance with CSG’s change control policy.
• Provide 2nd/3rd tier network troubleshooting, support, and resolve issues immediately or escalate to a higher tier of the team
• Consult with customer teams to define and implement network patterns for customer solutions or, if necessary, create custom solutions for various product requirements
• Consult with vendors, teammates, and other technical teams in the development of the CSG technical landscape aligned with industry trends. This will include procurement activities required to get accurate, timely quotes from vendors for new projects.
• Lead in all corporate network audit/compliance activities
• Provide informal technical leadership and mentorship to network teammates and contractors
• Regularly Scheduled On-call Rotation is required to support priority customer calls for events associated with outages, including documenting and attending associated After Action Summaries (AAS).

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent education/experience
• Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) in Routing and Switching or equivalent education/experience.
• 8-10 years of experience in a corporate environment deploying, developing, and supporting enterprise-class networks

Preferred:

• Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) in Routing and Switching or equivalent education/experience.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of experience in network engineering with a strong background in enterprise and cloud networking.
• Hands-on experience designing and supporting network environments in AWS, including VPCs, VPNs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and Security Groups.
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Strong scripting/programming skills in Python and Bash, for automating network deployment and configuration tasks.
• Experience with container platforms (e.g., EKS, Kubernetes) and implementing service mesh/network policies.
• Expertise in enterprise-grade switching, routing, firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto), technologies.
• Solid understanding of network protocols and services: BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN, and IPSec.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and observability platforms (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).
• Knowledge and experience in routing, switching, and firewall troubleshooting, maintenance, and configuration (ACI, SDN, NextGen Firewall, DDoS mitigation, wireless, and automation using Python, API)
• Knowledge and experience in the management of SNMP, SNMP traps, and logging technologies) and development of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Jenkins
• Configuration of Enterprise-level tools such as network monitoring and troubleshooting (SolarWinds, NetFlow, IP management Infoblox, packet captures using NetShark/Netprofiler/App Response, ISE)
• Knowledge of installation and troubleshooting of data center and corporate connectivity for enterprise and customer use
• Network auditing to remain compliant with PCI, HIPPA, and ISO
• Enhanced operational support for other team members as well as initial installs, builds, and troubleshooting
• Development and implementation of network standards and polices
• Ability to analyze and solve issues
• Experience with private and public cloud technologies
• Ability to represent and follow CSG’s change control process and polices
• Enterprise-class network documentation and presentation of engineering solutions
• Ability to work independently without a lot of direction
• Ability to lead team members and provide training on an as needed basis
• Ability to use a personal computer. Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language in a business environment.
• Ability to communicate and coordinate with team members across multiple time zones
• Strategic mindset – ability to connect business needs to technical design.
• Technical leadership – provide peer review and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Project ownership – independently drive planning and execution of complex network projects.
• Collaboration – strong communication skills and ability to work across teams, including cloud, compute platform, security, DevOps, and support.
• Resilience and agility – handle ambiguity, solve complex problems, and adapt to changing technologies and priorities.

Position Pay Range:

This range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to geographical location and experience.
