Business Banking (BB) manages relationships with Commonwealth Bank’s small-medium enterprise customers, mid-market corporate customers, and regional and agribusiness customers, providing a wide range of financial services and solutions. It also services our personal and institutional online trading customers.

About BB Payments

BB Payments domain is responsible for CBA’s payment strategic objectives and is focused on achieving NPS +30. In this role, you will be part of the Payments Real Time Payments & Payments as a Service Crew that sits within the BB Payments Domain, reporting into EM Real Time Payments.

Do Work That Matters

The Senior NPP Product Manager is responsible for the e2e development, distribution and management of New Payment Platform (NPP) product, this includes designing products and maintaining ownership of the end-to-end product systems and processes and is accountable for monitoring product performance, setting or reviewing the product strategy, delivering continuous improvement and risk buy-down initiatives, ensuring compliance with all scheme and regulatory obligations, driving commercialisation of the product and engaging directly with Scheme bodies.

More specifically, you will

  • Contribute towards CBA and Industry NPP and PayTo roadmap, including driving commercialisation and market adoption.
  • Engage with Scheme bodies to support CBA and Australia’s payment roadmap and strategy
  • Develop and design the features or enhancement to address market need or opportunity, whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory and scheme requirements.
  • Be responsible for monitoring sales, product closures, profits, costs, complaints, sales outside the target market, remediation of issues/ incidents/ risks, development of controls and competitor offerings.
  • Be responsible for delivering long term strategic projects to ensure their products continue to meet genuine customer needs.
  • Be responsible for proactively managing risks associated to the product.

  • Experienced Senior Product Manager with 5+ years of experience with payments experience (NPP preferred), banking and product management.
  • Strong risk Mind-set –All CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks.
  • Essential - Proven success in developing and executing a defined product strategic roadmap.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Successful change agent with a strong bias to challenging the status quo and guiding your product team through changes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management capabilities. Success in the role requires the ability to lead and influence without direct authority.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities – have the motivation and be comfortable with investigating and providing recommended options/solutions to complex problems and technical nuances.
  • Excellent payment products, policy and systems knowledge, excellent knowledge of the broader payments industry
