As part of the Client Virtualisation Services (CVS) - VDI crew within EUX, you will contribute to enabling our colleagues to work safely and securely Anywhere, Anytime and from Any device, as we strive to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and communities.
Your Role
As a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer, you will play a key role in the development, maintenance and governance of our virtual client infrastructure, ensuring the right access, availability and usability requirements are established and maintained.
Through partnering with internal stakeholders, you will be involved in the development and deployment of enterprise-grade cloud solutions that are fit for purpose, secure by design, and adherent to relevant internal and statutory controls and compliance frameworks.
A key custodian of the environment, you will work with vendor teams, to lead timely incident response, and facilitate an efficient and effective service restoration process.
Ultimately, your contribution will impact the effective management of our virtual infrastructure, hosting critical services that are essential to delivering business, service, and functional outcomes.
Key Skills
- Degree qualified in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related discipline.
- In-depth knowledge and/or technical competence in managing large-scale virtual desktops on multi-cloud environments.
- Demonstrable success in integrating critical system across Enterprise-Grade cloud hosted infrastructure.
- Skilled at effectively partnering with vendor providers and inter-disciplinary stakeholders.
- Clear, effective and influential communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with specialised cloud storage solutions
- Knowledge of Essential 8 and ITIL ITSM best practice frameworks.
- Competence across Technology Change and Release Management (CI/CD).
- Strong problem-solving, and time critical solutioning skills essential
Technical Competence
- Microsoft Technology stack; Active Directory, Hyper-V, MS Defender, SCCM/Intune, Entra ID (Azure), Office 365, MS Windows, Windows SOE.
- AWS.
- VM Ware / Citrix DaaS highly desirable
