The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Controller at CoinList, you will support the growth of CoinList's by maintaining the adequate records and systems in place. You will work directly with the the Controller and CFO to oversee the execution of financial reporting.

• You’re a numbers expert. You’ve been an auditor within the financial service industry or you’ve worked as an accountant at fintech startups. You’re a master with spreadsheets and like building models
• You’re a people person. You have managed a team in the past as you’ll help design processes and systems to ensure the finance team can scale and succeed
• You’re an operator and execution specialist. You are ready to get your hands dirty. You’ll hit deadlines and deliverables. You’ll execute when needed and you’ll step up to put out fires when they (inevitably) pop up. You thrive under high pressure situations and enjoy keeping others calm, on task, and on track
• You want to be a chef instead of a critic. You’ve been a checker and you’ve examined and understood financial reports, but now you’re curious on how to create them yourself
• You’re curious. You want to understand how things work. You value interesting things, especially outside your discipline. You like teaching others and constantly learning. You read and question things
• You deal well with pressure. CoinList’s has multiple deadlines and you will help assist getting these projects across the finish line. You thrive under high pressure situations like this and enjoy keeping others calm, on task, and on track

What you will do:

Accounting Functions

• Create and maintain expense and digital asset schedules for month-end close
• Prepare and develop workpapers for Trading, Lending, Staking and other products
• Process intercompany activities for multiple subsidiaries
• Create and maintain money reconciliation processes for bank accounts, accounts payable, and credit cards
• Cross review workpapers for other subsidiaries
• Enter vendor invoices into accounts payable system and ensure accurate GL account mapping
• Create invoices for services rendered and maintain deferred revenue schedule

Finance Functions

• Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements
• Maintain and create weekly cash flow reports and runway projections
• Propose process and efficiency improvements
• Ad-hoc projects

Audit and Tax support

• Work with the Controller to lead the audits of multiple subsidiaries
• Prepare proper audit and tax documentation
• Prepare technical accounting memos as needed
• Build and maintain relationships with outside accounting and tax firms

Requirements

• 3-5 years experience working in Senior Accountant and/or Assistant Controller role(s)
• 4-year Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar degree
• Startup or technology experience preferred
• Crypto experience is a plus but not required
• NetSuite experience
• CPA is a plus
