Staff Accountant (US Remote)

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the daily general ledger analysis/accounting functions for the company. This position is accountable for assisting with all transactions entered into the company’s accounting software.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly close including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Analyze account and department fluctuations to drive more accurate results
• Monthly amortization of prepaids, fixed assets and intangibles.
• Record monthly bank activities including international accounts
• Calculate allocations of shared costs across various departments.
• Update monthly Foreign Exchange rates.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Respond to information requests related to monthly financial statements and various audits needs.
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Deadline oriented, balancing needs to produce timely and accurate results
• Effective time management including ability to multi-task
• Strong problem solving to propose solutions to complex problems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly proficient with Excel
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (US GAAP) and regulatory requirements
• Ability to work on a team and independently
• Strong attention to detail
• Performs important work under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.

Education and/or Experience:

• BS in Accounting or 3 to 4+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant preferred
