About the Role
Chime is seeking a strategic, well-versed, and mission-driven Director of Government Advocacy to manage our federal policy involvement in Washington, DC. In this role, you will serve as a senior advisor to the Head of Government Advocacy and play a pivotal role within Chime’s broader Government and Public Affairs team.
You’ll be in charge of shaping how Chime navigates and influences federal financial regulatory systems, advocating for policies that support innovation and access to financial services. As a key external voice for Chime, you’ll build relationships with lawmakers, regulators, and stakeholders, while also bringing critical insights back to the company to inform product, legal, and strategy decisions.
This is a highly visible role that requires deep subject matter expertise in financial services, fintech, and regulation, along with a solid track record of effective advocacy and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $193,860.00 and up to $274,700.000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
What You’ll Do
- Shape and execute Chime’s federal government affairs strategy.
- Monitor, assess, and respond to legislative and regulatory developments in Congress and across the Administration.
- Represent Chime in conversations with lawmakers, regulators, and external stakeholders.
- Partner cross-functionally with legal, product, compliance, and communications teams.
- Serve as a thought leader on policy issues affecting financial services and fintech innovation.
- Communicate complex policy and regulatory issues to both internal and external audiences.
- Build coalitions and collaborate with industry associations, advocacy groups, and community stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree and extensive experience in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory strategy.
- Demonstrated success working with federal policymakers, particularly in financial services, banking, or fintech.
- Deep existing relationships across government, advocacy, and industry groups.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Skilled communicator with exemplary writing and presentation abilities.
- Adjustable, mission-driven, and highly collaborative, with a strong bias for action.
