About the Role

CaptivateIQ is looking for an experienced Professional Services leader with a deep accounting and compliance background to lead our Accounting & Reporting delivery team. This team owns the design, implementation, and maintenance of the financial reporting layer across complex incentive compensation systems, ensuring accuracy, audit readiness, and compliance with ASC 340, ASC 606, and IFRS 15.
This is not a traditional project-delivery role. You’ll lead a highly specialized team of consultants and architects who blend accounting acumen with technical implementation expertise. Your mandate: scale a world-class reporting and compliance practice that connects operational delivery with financial accuracy and strategic business value.

Delivery Oversight & Operational Excellence Responsibilities

  • Oversee the execution of reporting and accounting-related project work across a portfolio of enterprise implementations.
  • Ensure solutions meet rigorous accounting standards for ASC340, SOX compliance, among others, and maintain ongoing financial data integrity.
  • Establish clear, measurable operational dashboards and feedback loops that enable early intervention, faster root-cause resolution, and continuous improvement.
  • Design, implement, and operate systems that provide real-time visibility into project health, risks, dependencies, and resolution paths - giving internal stakeholders (including project teams, CX leadership, and executives) proactive insight into delivery performance.
  • Partner with the VP of Services and cross-functional leaders to evolve delivery methodologies for scalability, automation, and compliance alignment.
  • Operate effectively within a complex, technically sophisticated product environment, guiding the team through ambiguity using clear frameworks and structured decision-making.
  • Establish and rigorously maintain (KPIs), such as utilization rates, project realization, and customer CSAT.

Accounting Strategy & Compliance Governance Responsibilities

  • Act as the internal subject matter expert on accounting compliance and reporting structure for incentive compensation.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to influence roadmap priorities that support compliant financial data outputs.
  • Maintain and continuously refine internal best practices for accounting data structures, model hygiene, and report governance.
  • Champion a “compliance by design” philosophy in delivery, embedding financial accuracy into every phase of the implementation lifecycle.
  • Lead rollouts of new processes and products as related to reporting and dashboards, with emphasis on launch and change management.

Cross-Functional & Customer Engagement Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers’ finance and accounting teams on best practices for commission accounting, amortization schedules, and compliance reporting.
  • Partner closely with Customer Success and Support to ensure smooth post-implementation transitions and continued audit readiness.
  • Influence internal and partner-delivered project quality by developing playbooks, templates, and financial validation frameworks.
  • Identify patterns across escalations and delivery risks, translate them into systemic improvements, and advocate for team needs across CX, Product, and Engineering

Team Leadership & People Development Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting-focused consultants and architects specializing in ASC 606 and financial reporting deliverables.
  • Build leadership depth within the team by developing clear career paths and competency frameworks for accounting and technical expertise.
  • Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement—where technical rigor meets consultative excellence.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex customer implementations or compliance reviews.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of total experience, including 5+ years in accounting, finance, or related technical consulting roles.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience managing senior consultants or architects.
  • Proven background in sales compensation accounting and reporting aligned to ASC340/ASC606.
  • CPA or formal accounting qualification.
  • Demonstrated success leading delivery teams in SaaS or enterprise software environments, delivering implementations on a technically complex product.
  • Track record of creating outstanding customer experiences.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills - able to translate complex accounting and data topics for executive and technical audiences.
  • Deep expertise in financial modeling, data validation, and reporting integrity (advanced Excel/Sheets; SQL familiarity preferred).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with CaptivateIQ, Xactly, Varicent, Anaplan, or SAP Commissions.
  • Familiarity with CRM/ERP systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, Zuora).
  • Experience leading offshore or partner-led delivery models.
  • Exposure to AI, analytics, or automation in financial reporting or compliance.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive Healthcare: 100% coverage for medical, dental, and vision for all FTEs, with roughly 75% coverage for dependents.
  • Flexible Time Off: Flexible vacation days plus quarterly mental health days to ensure you have the space to recharge.
  • Annual Stipends: Dedicated funds for your professional development and caretaking needs.
  • Work Anniversary Bonuses: Annual bonuses to celebrate your milestones and contributions to the CaptivateIQ team that grow as your tenure does.
  • Retirement Savings (US-Only): A 401(k) plan to help you invest in and secure your future.
  • Premium Tools: The latest Apple hardware to empower you to do your best work.
  • Inclusive Community: Active Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that celebrate shared identities and support our DEI goals by fostering an environment where diverse talent thrives.

Empowering revenue teams to get incentives right. With CaptivateIQ, organizations can build the right commission plans for their business, and better adapt to changing environments and evolving business needs.

Our mission

At CaptivateIQ, we believe in the power of incentives. When organizations get incentive compensation right, it supercharges their business — aligning revenue teams with company goals, and motivating outperformance.

Our mission is to enable every company to take control of this strategic lever. We built an agile commission platform that makes it easy for sales, finance, and operations teams to design the best commission plans for their organizations, and iterate with confidence to achieve revenue goals.

Our story

Calculating commissions is mission-critical. And it’s really, really hard. Each company has a unique commission structure that involves far more calculations and data than a typical salary payroll — and for many, commission is one of the largest expenses on the P&L statement.‍

When CaptivateIQ was founded in 2017, compensation leaders were tracking and managing sales data using costly legacy software or, in the worst cases, a single spreadsheet. There were no other options but to use opaque, error-prone processes to manage commissions. Our founders knew this could be better.

So they created the solution that they’d want to use: CaptivateIQ.

Our hope is to empower everyone involved in the commission process. Our goal is to have all commissions live in CaptivateIQ — thereby providing revenue-focused teams with the data and insights they need to make informed decisions and develop winning strategies.

We’ve come a long way since our early days, but we’re focused on many more fulfilling years to come.

What we value

  • Bias Towards Action: We take the initiative and are proactive in making decisions. We prioritize action over indecision. We experiment, test, and learn by taking small steps and iterating rapidly.

  • Operate with Clarity: We understand our goals, objectives, and expectations. We communicate effectively and transparently. We establish clear roles and responsibilities.

  • Be an Owner: We act with a sense of ownership, taking responsibility for our actions and decisions in the best interest of the company and our customers.

  • Deliver Impact: We achieve tangible outcomes. We stay focused on what is important. We measure our progress and identify areas where we need to improve.

  • Lead with Empathy: We understand and respond to the needs and concerns of our team and our customers. We build trust and strong relationships.

CaptivateIQ belonging

At CaptivateIQ, we value diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging because we believe that different perspectives and cultures help us succeed as a company. Since we work in a remote-first culture, it's essential that we have a strong sense of community.‍

CaptivateIQ's Employee Resource Groups are voluntary, employee-led groups designed to support the shared identities and experiences of our diverse community.

We are continually striving to build a workplace that promotes the well-being of our employees and empowers them to make decisions that will help businesses thrive in an ever-changing world.
