We are remote-first but we do have offices in London and Hong Kong for those who wish to use them, as well as fully remote employees across 11 different countries. What’s the opportunity?

The Senior Front End Engineer will be responsible for building user interfaces and front-end systems. This role is highly collaborative and will be deeply embedded within the wider work of BridgeU. As a Senior Front End Engineer, you will also work heavily with other Frontend engineers within your squad and chapter, experienced Product Managers, Designers and Data Scientists to help shape the future of our product.

We are looking for people with a natural willingness to learn new technologies and who are keen to share their knowledge with others. Our current tech stack includes Ruby on Rails, Elm, Vue.JS and PostgreSQL. But we are currently going through a technical transformation project to a new technology stack utilising Svelte as the main frontend framework.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Contribute actively to the development of new features for our product, as well as to the ongoing maintenance and improvements needed.
  • Collaborate with the Frontend chapter lead on the front-end focused technical and architectural discussions.
  • Collaborate with people from the wider product team to assess the feasibility of new ideas and ensure the delivery of features.
  • Driving the delivery of projects through building out plans, delegating tasks and communicating progress to stakeholders.
  • Help and mentor other members of your team.
  • Communicate technical decisions to stakeholders.
  • Driving improvement work through the analysis of feedback and data to prioritise the highest value add work items.

Requirements

What you’ll bring:

  • Considerable experience with modern frontend technologies and frameworks such as Svelte, Vue, Elm, Typescript.
  • Experience with client-server architecture using either RESTful APIs or GraphQL.
  • Knowledge of Bootstrap, Storybook and other UI libraries.
  • Experience with cross-browser development and testing.
  • Experience with design systems setup, maintenance and utilisation.
  • Experience in maintaining CI/CD pipelines and build tools such as CircleCI, Webpack & Vite.
  • Experience in product-focused teams and mentoring other team members.
  • Ability to work with designers to move forward the best user experience for the web and mobile.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A strong thirst for knowledge and upskilling.
