About Aleph

Aleph is an AI-native platform for Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). We operate in an established software category with a multi-billion market but no clear winner. Our growth has come from product velocity and customer outcomes, not marketing spend, and the results speak for themselves.

Aleph was founded by Albert Gozzi and Santiago Perez De Rosso, two technical founders with backgrounds from Stanford and MIT and experience working at top-tier companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Bain & Company. We’re backed by top VCs (Bain Capital Ventures, Khosla Ventures, YC, Picus Capital), and work with customers like Webflow, Turo, Notion, Zapier, and many others.

What we’ve built so far is the most seamless way to centralize all of a company's financial data – think expenses from Quickbooks or Netsuite, pipeline forecasts from Salesforce – and bring it into the tools finance teams are already using. But the vision goes way beyond that: Aleph is AI-native at its core, automating reporting, variance analysis, and forecasting through intelligent agents. We’re building the always-on decision layer for modern businesses.

We’re moving fast, shipping constantly, leaning into AI to make the product smarter with every release, while also applying AI to how we sell, support and scale. Our churn is low, growth is strong, and the pace keeps accelerating.

We are hiring remotely across the Americas (United States, Canada, LATAM).

🔍 What we're looking for

As we continue to expand and enhance our product offerings, we are seeking a talented Engineering Manager to lead our Applied AI team within the engineering team. You will play a pivotal role in driving the development, delivery, and optimization of AI agents for financial planning and analysis. This role combines technical leadership, strategic planning, and team management to ensure the successful execution of projects, the continuous improvement of our products, and the growth and development of our engineering team.

We are seeking Engineering Managers excited about being close to the code and hands-on with technical delivery.

You will report to the CTO and manage a mix of inherited existing engineers and engineers who haven’t yet joined Aleph.

👷 What you'll be doing

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Drive the execution of projects from conception to delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer expectations.

  • Provide technical guidance, expertise, and oversight to the team, ensuring the adoption of best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes.

  • Lead by example through hands-on contribution to code reviews, architecture discussions, and problem-solving.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, providing transparency, updates, and insights on project status, risks, and opportunities.

📝 What you have

  • Proven track record of 5+ years of experience in software engineering, 2+ years in a management role focused on AI

  • Experience building and shipping high-quality user-facing products in a fast-paced environment, preferably in the domain of no-code or data tools

  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a diverse team of engineers

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

  • High tolerance for ambiguity and change, with the ability to jump into whatever areas need attention and learn as you go

  • Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals to help mentor engineers to solve complex technical problems and drive innovation

While this is a remote-first opportunity, we're focusing on candidates within the Americas to better align with our working hours as a team.

The journey of Aleph began with a simple, yet profound, realization by its co-founder and CEO, Albert Gozzi. Having experienced the frustrations and limitations of existing Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) solutions firsthand, both as a CFO and an engineer, Gozzi envisioned a new approach. He observed that many finance teams, despite the availability of sophisticated web-based tools, still found themselves reverting to the familiar and flexible environment of spreadsheets for critical tasks. These dedicated FP&A tools often tried to replace Excel or Google Sheets entirely, forcing users to learn new syntaxes and conform to rigid models that didn't always align with diverse business needs. This often led to months-long implementations with a slow time-to-value.

Driven by the desire to solve these real-world problems, Gozzi embarked on a mission to create a 'spreadsheet-first' FP&A tool. The core idea was to supercharge the flexibility of spreadsheets by addressing their inherent weaknesses, such as a lack of real-time data connections and robust collaboration features, especially when scaling operations. This vision started to take shape in 2020, with Gozzi building the minimum viable product from his home during the pandemic. In 2021, Santiago Perez De Rosso, with a Ph.D. from MIT and experience at DocuSign, joined as co-founder and CTO, bringing further technical expertise to the nascent company. Their collaborative efforts led to Aleph's acceptance into the prestigious Y Combinator program, providing a crucial launchpad for their innovative platform. The name 'Aleph' itself is symbolic, drawn from a short story by Jorge Luis Borges, representing a point in space containing all other points – a metaphor for how Aleph aims to centralize and provide a 360-degree view of a business's financial data without distortion or confusion. Today, Aleph is empowering finance teams at companies like Turo, Notion, Zapier, and Envoy to make better, faster decisions by providing a single source of truth for all their financial data, seamlessly integrating with existing workflows and automating repetitive tasks.
