Affirm

Employee count: 1001-5000

Salary: 160k-230k USD

United States only

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.

As a Lead Product Marketing Manager, you’ll play a pivotal strategic leadership role in shaping how merchants experience Affirm’s products across multiple product lines or segments. You'll own and drive the definition of our product strategy for these areas, lead major, complex go-to-market initiatives, and develop compelling narratives that drive critical business outcomes and influence long-term market positioning.

This is a highly cross-functional role that requires expert product intuition, advanced strategic thinking, and a bias for action. You’ll bring deep customer and competitive insights to everything you do, and operate as a true partner to senior leaders in Product, Revenue (including Sales, Customer Success and Enablement), Partnership, and Analytics, acting as connective tissue between these functions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Shape Product Strategy Through Insights: Partner closely with Product leadership to shape the multi-quarter roadmap for multiple product areas or segments. Identify new strategic opportunities, uncover unmet customer, merchant, and partner needs, and establish robust feedback loops. Leverage customer research, competitive intelligence, and market trends to inform overarching product strategy, influence key product decisions, and strategic prioritization.

  • Lead Strategic GTM and Execution for Major Initiatives: Own and orchestrate the end-to-end strategy and execution of major product launches or complex GTM initiatives critical to the business, often spanning multiple product lines or regions—from beta through to full launch and post-launch optimization. This includes crafting compelling value propositions that resonate across diverse segments, developing scalable GTM frameworks and processes, aligning cross-functional senior stakeholders, and establishing success metrics to ensure accountability and measure business impact over multiple iterations. You will analyze complex data sets to uncover insights that inform segmentation, positioning, and refine multi-product marketing strategies. Drive outsized and measurable business impact through scalable programs that accelerate adoption and growth across your portfolio.

  • Accelerate Product Portfolio Adoption and Growth: Design and execute strategic initiatives that drive merchant engagement and adoption at scale across key product areas. Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success and Enablement leadership to ensure strategic alignment and message consistency for major go-to-market efforts. Analyze product adoption and broader market trends to inform optimization strategies, anticipate long-term challenges, and identify significant growth levers

  • Operate with Agility and Drive Strategic Execution: Navigate high levels of ambiguity and strategic complexity with confidence, bringing clarity and structure to complex, cross-functional projects that span product lines or business units. Manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously, anticipate risks, balance competing priorities across stakeholders, and maintain momentum through thoughtful planning and executional excellence, setting the standard for quality and timeliness.

  • Leverage Expert Business and Product Acumen: Develop a deep and nuanced understanding of your product portfolio's functionality, along with the key revenue and cost drivers within your scope, and the common XFN and external factors that influence them. Use this knowledge to shape critical GTM and product decisions that align with long-term company objectives and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Lead Cross-Functional Alignment and Influence: Build strong, trusted relationships and act as the connective tissue across Product, Sales, Customer Success, Analytics, and other key teams at all levels. Lead discussions to drive clarity on ambiguous or complex initiatives, resolve complex cross-functional dependencies, and ensure tight alignment on major GTM plans and strategic product initiatives, influencing senior leadership.

  • Be a Culture Carrier and Team Mentor: Serve as a champion of Affirm’s values and culture, consistently fostering collaboration, transparency, and innovation within the PMM team and across the organization. Lead by example in creating an inclusive and growth-oriented environment. Drive initiatives to scale PMM expertise, mentor PMMs to elevate team performance, champion a shared culture of excellence, and act as a thought leader, encouraging cross-team collaboration to enhance collective knowledge.

What We Look For:

  • 7-8+ years of experience in product marketing, product management, or a similar strategic role, ideally in a Payments or Fintech environment.

  • Proven track record of owning and driving major product launches or complex GTM initiatives that deliver significant, measurable business results across multiple product lines or segments.

  • Exceptional strategic thinker and leader with strong business acumen, able to connect the dots between customer needs, market trends, and long-term product and business strategy.

  • Excellent communicator and storyteller, with the ability to simplify complex ideas and present compelling narratives backed by results to a wide range of audiences, including senior leadership and executive stakeholders.

  • Highly analytical mindset—confident with data and able to build and drive data-driven decision-making across key projects, developing frameworks for measuring success and extracting insights that influence overarching product and marketing strategies. Constantly leveraging data to optimize product performance and user engagement.

  • Mastery of navigating high ambiguity and strategic complexity, with proven success driving alignment and execution in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and balancing competing priorities effectively.

  • Proven ability to collaborate, build consensus, and influence cross-functionally at all levels, including senior stakeholders.

  • Outstanding prioritization and project management skills, with a keen ability to balance near-term GTM needs with long-term strategic positioning for the business, managing cross-functional initiatives that span product lines or business units.

  • Creative problem-solver who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves, iterate quickly, champion innovative solutions, and coach junior team members on experimentation best practices and innovative approaches.

  • Experience mentoring junior PMMs and contributing to the development of team-wide best practices or strategic frameworks.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, brings strategic and analytical rigor to solve multi-dimensional problems, and is passionate about transforming the way people access credit.
