Location: Full-time, 100% remote position in the United States (from home or co-working space) with occasional travel once every 2-3 months

Localyst attracts and engages subscribers through innovative digital storytelling on Facebook Messenger and Instagram. By regularly broadcasting stories that resonate with diverse communities, Localyst builds long term relationships with subscribers based on highly engaging content, and encourages subscribers to take various forms of civic action, like registering to vote, and casting votes on Election Day.

Localyst is a digital media venture within Accelerate Change (AC), which is a nonprofit media lab dedicated to catalyzing new scalable and sustainable digital media models for citizen engagement. About the Position

Localyst is seeking a hands-on Bot Builder Associate to create and maintain message flows using no-code platforms like Chatfuel and TextIt. You don’t need to code, but you should be fluent in no-code tools, have a sharp eye for logic bugs, and be confident in communicating what’s simple, what’s complex, and when something just won’t work.

You’ll get full support from the data team, including standardized attributes and guidelines. We’re seeking someone who can grow into the role, think critically, and collaborate closely with data and community engagement teams as the system evolves.

Here’s what you could expect to do as Bot Builder Associate (key responsibilities):

• Build and maintain message flows in no-code platforms (e.g., Chatfuel, TextIt, Twilio, Mailchimp) using provided guidelines and attributes

• QA all builds for edge cases, missing logic, or technical bugs before launch

• Troubleshoot flow issues independently and escalate to platform support when needed

• Communicate blockers, trade-offs, and the level of effort clearly to collaborators (content team, data team, and leadership)

• Collaborate with analysts to ensure flows are measurable and aligned with campaign goals

• Maintain documentation of builds and platform quirks for team reference

We’ll also look for the Bot Builder Associate to:

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years experience with key responsibilities: We’re looking for someone who has at least 2 years of experience working with no-code platforms like Chatfuel, ManyChat, TextIt, Twilio,etc.

• Solutions-Oriented Approach: Proven experience with identifying and fixing issues in flow logic and user experience

• Clear Communicator: Clear, practical communication skills, especially when explaining what’s working and what’s not

• Learning Mindset: You are eager to learn and adapt quickly as the system changes.

Benefits

• $55,000-$70,000 salary range, with exact salary depending on experience and new staff rarely starting at the top of the range

• Flexibility for work and life: Unlike a lot of places, we actually believe that people should only work 40 hours each week, except for occasional sprints that require more time in a week. We also trust everyone to make a schedule that works for them, as long as you’re able to join all necessary meetings. Want to work more one day and less the next? Fine by us. • Need-based educational loan assistance after 3 months

• Annual office closure during the last week in December
