What I'm looking for
I’m a medical receptionist with a strong background in high-volume customer-facing roles, including 8+ years of call centre experience supporting a UK based online shopping company. I handled orders, tracking, queries/complaints, and online payments, and after 3 years I was promoted to assisting supervisor.
After relocating to JHB, I worked for 5 years with an ENT Specialist as a medical receptionist, coordinating admissions and ensuring documentation was completed accurately. I was exposed to understanding medical ICD10 and procedure codes, and I handled authorisations from medical aids for procedures and consultations.
In June 2023, I joined a joint practice (Dentists, GP’s, onsite nurses), managing appointments via email, telephonic or online, and handling 6 GP Dr’s diaries as well as the dentist, nursing station and psychiatrist. I manage onsite payments and claims processed to the medical aid, including following up on shortfalls, and in my first year I was promoted to head office to assist with medical aid payment allocations and resubmissions, while working with billing systems GoodX, Health bridge and SAP.
