At ARUP Laboratories, I analyze clinical next-generation sequencing pipeline outputs, including PCR-based and PCR-free data. I perform quality checks, investigate anomalies, and validate pipeline outputs and software releases before production deployment.
I use samtools to assess sequencing coverage and SQL and Python to organize sequencing data and clinical metadata for statistical analyses and outcome reporting. I also build Tableau dashboards and reports that translate technical findings for medical directors and clinical leadership.
At the BYU Breast Cancer Research Lab, I analyzed genomic and clinical datasets with Python and R, and used BLAST to identify sequences. I built a Random Forest model to find public genomic repository datasets with race, ethnicity, or ancestry metadata, expanding a curated database of 879 datasets.
My other experience includes working with healthcare claims data at Ensign Services and validating clinical LIS data and reports at the BYU Student Health Center / MTC. As a Web Developer at the BYU Copyright Office, I designed relational database schemas, wrote SQL queries, and implemented Python data validation scripts deployed on AWS.
