Thabo Semenya

I am an analytical, research-driven bioinformatician with an MSc in Cell & Computational Biology and a specialization in bacterial genomics. I combine a strong molecular-biology foundation with advanced computational skills to turn sequencing data into actionable insights.

Over four years I have led whole genome sequencing and metagenomics projects, developing and optimizing reproducible Nextflow pipelines used across my research workflows. I am proficient in Python and experienced with Illumina, ONT, and PacBio sequencing platforms.
