What I'm looking for

Looking for a data analyst or bioinformatics roles. I'm particularly interested in positions that let me build on my developing Python and SQL skills while working with structured, high-volume datasets. Open to roles in agritech, biotech, life sciences, or data analytics more broadly, and comfortable with remote or hybrid setups.

I'm a Biotechnologist with over 8 years of experience in genetic analysis, laboratory data management, and research protocol optimization within commercial breeding programs. At Plennegy, I've designed and maintained structured genetic marker databases, supported breeders with genotype dataset analysis for backcrossing and selection decisions, and developed data-driven embryo rescue and doubled haploid protocols — all while ensuring data accuracy and integrity across high-volume LIMS workflows.

My background combines hands-on lab science (DNA extraction, marker-assisted selection, single plant genotyping) with a strong analytical foundation in experimental design, statistical interpretation, and database structuring. I hold a BSc Honours in Crop Science and a BSc in Genetics and Microbiology, both from the University of Pretoria.

I'm currently expanding into data analytics and bioinformatics, building proficiency in Python,SQL and microsoft power BI to complement my advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, data validation). I'm looking for roles where I can apply my genetic and laboratory data expertise to broader data analysis or bioinformatics work — bringing rigor, structure, and a genuine curiosity for what the data is telling us
