Stephanie Mesbah

At Schreiber High School, I lead the Special Education Department, supervising 14 special education teachers and 16 teaching assistants while ensuring IEP compliance for 205 classified students.

I oversee departmental budgeting, chair CSE meetings, coordinate hiring, and partner with district leadership to implement, evaluate, and report assessment data. I also lead monthly department meetings focused on progress monitoring, digital supports, and curricular changes.

My classroom background spans special education and English instruction at Great Neck North High School, Hauppauge Public Schools, Cooke Academy, and the International Academy of Hope. I create differentiated, multi-modal instruction for students with diverse learning needs and use formative data to select research-based interventions.

I've delivered district-wide and regional professional development on transition planning, co-teaching, PearDeck, literacy instruction, and behavior management. My work is grounded in Universal Design for Learning, project-based learning, executive functioning, and meaningful support for students with disabilities.
