What I'm looking for

I’m looking for remote or on-site U.S. public health leadership in HIV/STI prevention, epidemiology programs, and policy or health-systems consulting—where I can direct surveillance, workforce training, and measurable outcomes for underserved communities.

I’m a bilingual public health physician with an MPH and over 23 years of experience designing, directing, and evaluating HIV/AIDS, STI, and infectious disease prevention programs across state, community, and federal levels in Mexico. I lead with epidemiological surveillance, evidence-based policy development, and multisectoral implementation that focuses on underserved populations.

As Director of Disease Prevention and Control for the Sonora State Public Health Department, I directed regional disease surveillance infrastructure and prevention strategies for a population of over 3 million. I designed and implemented communicable disease control protocols aligned with NOM standards and WHO frameworks, coordinated cross-sector outbreak responses, and managed budget planning, performance reporting, and KPI accountability.

For 15 years as Deputy Director of the HIV/STI Prevention Program, I co-led statewide HIV/STI strategy and operations while overseeing surveillance and reporting for HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, and hepatitis C aligned with CENSIDA guidelines. I designed and scaled community-based prevention campaigns for key populations—including MSM, sex workers, PWID, and migrant communities—and trained over 500 health workers in HIV counseling, rapid testing, and prevention best practices.

In my role as Director of the HIV/STI Outpatient Center (CAPASITS), I integrated clinical care, public health surveillance, prevention, and community outreach. I led PrEP/PEP program design with provider training and patient retention protocols, supported antiretroviral adherence through pharmacy-integrated care models, expanded reach with telemedicine-supported services, and consistently reported outcomes to health authority stakeholders.
