At Wachemo University Durame Campus, I teach agricultural science courses and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research. My research includes drought tolerance in sweet potato and common bean, with findings that identified 30 sweet potato genotypes with dual-purpose potential and three orange-fleshed genotypes as highly drought tolerant.
As Co-Principal Investigator on bamboo-based forest restoration, I led the establishment of a nursery producing approximately 30,000 seedlings and supported restoration of degraded landscapes. My ongoing research also integrates satellite-derived vegetation indices with field data to assess drought impacts on crops and pastoral land in Ethiopia.
