What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a role where I can teach and build rigorous, inclusive biology curricula—using data to improve outcomes across in-person, hybrid, and remote formats—while collaborating across departments to create high-engagement learning.

I’m a results-driven higher education instructor and curriculum developer with extensive experience teaching diverse learner populations across foundational and advanced biological sciences. I execute high-fidelity department course shells and design original, rigorous biology curricula “from the ground up,” including lab-rich learning experiences that translate well across remote, hybrid, and in-person environments.

In my roles at West Virginia Northern Community College and beyond, I’ve delivered courses in Biology, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Plant Biology, and microbiology, while also developing curriculum such as virtual and home labs for Plant Biology. I’m QM Certified for online course creation, and I use data to refine rubrics, optimize delivery methods, and improve student outcomes—so students get both clear structure and meaningful academic challenge.

I’m also deeply collaborative and student-centered. I coach learners through capstone projects, support students through mentorship programming, and design writing-intensive courses and labs that build strong scientific communication. My background includes interdisciplinary program development (including an aquaculture initiative aligned to state standards and workforce goals) and field-based marine experience that reinforces my commitment to data integrity, compliance, and real-world scientific impact.

Supported students through the PRISM mentorship program and was nominated for the Excellence in College & University Teaching Award by the Minnesota Board of Trustees. Designed courses and labs with writing-intensive components and taught multiple biology and anatomy courses.

Minneapolis Public Schools

Certified in math grades 5–12 and curriculum differentiation to reach a wide range of student abilities. Initiated and funded interdisciplinary projects to improve engagement, collaborated across departments to align standards, and served as STEM coordinator for a robotics team.

Contracted as a field biologist and lead observer aboard U.S. survey and oil vessels, ensuring compliance with protected species protocols. Certified in protected species observing and passive acoustic monitoring, supervised observer data collection, supported acoustic data acquisition, authored compliance statements for federal investigations, and liaised with NOAA and vessel teams.
