At NVO Consolidation, I oversaw inbound sea freight LCL operations from China, Taiwan, Singapore, India and Turkey, arranging bookings, customer queries, container unpacking and onward transport.
I also managed the import operators, hired and trained new staff, and acted as an escalation point for customer queries and complaints. I assisted in obtaining new business and was the first operational contact for new customers.
At Cargo Overseas Ltd in Manchester, I managed the sea import desk and a team of five. I worked to maintain and increase departmental profitability, negotiated supplier rates in the UK and abroad, and maintained customer service standards.
Earlier at Cargo Overseas Ltd, I worked as an Air Import Operator in Manchester and London Heathrow. I organised UK imports, handled customer enquiries, completed customs entries, quoted shipment prices and invoiced; in London, I also assisted with opening a new office and managing a small team.
