Raksha Achar
@rakshaachar
Mechanical engineer (EIT) specializing in mechanical design, prototyping, and sustainable engineering solutions.
What I'm looking for
I am a Mechanical Engineering graduate (EIT) with a minor in Biomedical Engineering, focused on practical, sustainable mechanical design and prototyping. I bring strong CAD skills and hands-on experience developing and testing devices from concept to working prototype.
My capstone led R&D work produced a solar-powered algae deterrent system for wastewater lagoons, earning 2nd place among Mechanical Engineering projects; I modeled components in SolidWorks and built prototypes from off-the-shelf materials.
Industry experience includes an internship in Facility Integrity Engineering where I performed engineering analyses of process safety critical equipment and supported risk-based systems across gas and liquids facilities. I have also contributed to academic research in tribology, building and operating a tribometer and creating LabVIEW controls.
I am an effective team leader and collaborator, having led student events and cross-disciplinary product development, with strengths in documentation, rapid prototyping, FEA, and stakeholder communication—ready to contribute to mechanical design and engineering roles that value innovation and sustainability.
