What I'm looking for

I’m seeking a remote software engineering role where I can build impactful, user-focused products. Skilled in React, Next.js, Node.js, and MongoDB, I enjoy working across the full stack and exploring new technologies like GraphQL, Kubernetes, and AI agents while contributing to meaningful, scalable projects.

I’m Orlando Ascanio, a software engineer with a strong foundation in full-stack web development and a passion for building products that solve real problems. My journey has taken me from leading a school’s first official website for 400+ students and staff, to building SaaS apps, e-commerce solutions, and interactive 3D tools.

On the technical side, I work mainly with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and MongoDB/MySQL, while also using tools like Docker, GitHub Actions, AWS/GCP, and Vercel to ship projects reliably. I care deeply about clean code, security, and building user-friendly experiences, from securing APIs to designing responsive UIs that work seamlessly across devices.

Some highlights of my work include:

  • Librora (SaaS app): built authentication, advanced book management, role-based access, and automated CI/CD pipelines.

  • Freelance Storefront: launched a full-stack e-commerce app with PayPal integration, reducing manual work and enabling first sales online.

  • Room Planner MVP (IKEA Kreativ Clone): created an interactive 3D room planner with Three.js, showcasing affordable alternatives to commercial design tools.

Beyond coding, I value collaboration, communication, and ownership. I enjoy learning new technologies (currently exploring GraphQL, Kubernetes, Nest.js, and AI agents) and pushing myself through side projects like a real-time chess app, a productivity tool inspired by The ONE Thing, and even playful UI components like a MacOS-style terminal animation.
