Olga Pyalling
@olgapyalling
I build computational and synthetic biology tools for preclinical product validation.
What I'm looking for
I've supported Ocular Therapeutix's Phase III AXPAXLI formulation documentation while characterizing biodegradable hydrogel implants and analyzing API release data.
At Northeastern and Hollister, I developed a patient-derived 3D peristomal tissue model and built an ANSYS finite element simulation for virtual mechanical testing before fabrication.
I've engineered a dual-inducible eYFP/mScarlet recombinant plasmid system, achieving inducer-specific fluorescence and validating integration through Sanger sequencing and plate-reader assays.
I also built a Python program to assess E. coli cell-line and plasmid compatibility, bringing together computational modeling, genetic engineering, and experimental validation.
Experience
Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
Capstone: In-Silico Finite Element Model of Peristomal Tissue Mechanics
Northeastern University College of Engineering and Hollister
Jul 2024 - Dec 2024 (5 months)
Developed patient-derived 3D computational model of peristomal tissue from abdominal CT scans using SolidWorks, enabling virtual mechanical testing. Built finite element simulation in ANSYS implementing an Ogden hyper elastic material model with viscoelastic add-on.
R&D Engineer Co-op
Ocular Therapeutix, Inc.
Jul 2023 - Dec 2023 (5 months)
Conducted research for official Phase III formulation documentation of biodegradable hydrogel delivery technology, AXPAXLI, following GLP standards. Executed experiments characterizing AXPAXLI implants and analyzed API release data.
