Ella Edwards

I’m a biological engineering student who thrives at the intersection of experiments and engineering decisions. I build strong fundamentals through coursework like Nanotechnology for Biomedical Applications, Human Factors Engineering, Modern Imaging Techniques, and Biological Engineering Core Labs.

In research, I’ve led hands-on study work and engineering-style modeling. I designed and simulated a casein protein production process in SuperPro Designer, including unit operation models, material balances, process efficiency/yield evaluation, and an economic analysis to support feasible decisions.

I also conducted an undergraduate research project on snail antipredator behavior under environmental stress. I developed hypotheses, ran controlled experiments, collected and interpreted experimental data across trials, and was selected to present findings at the LSU Biology Fair.

My lab experience strengthens my ability to generate reliable data and communicate results clearly. I perform techniques like PCR, gel electrophoresis, microscopy, and biochemical assays, and I support teams through troubleshooting and technical reporting while applying tools such as MATLAB, Microsoft Excel, and chromatography/spectroscopy-based analysis.
