As an Export Freight Clerk, I manage export documentation for shipments, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed from booking confirmation to cargo release. I handle custom clearances and maintain positive client relationships, ensuring high satisfaction levels. My role involves solving complex shipping issues and preparing compliance documentation.

During my learnership at Maritime School, I gained exposure to daily shipping operations, coordinating the movement of goods internationally. I improved my skills in Excel and Microsoft Office while managing shipment inquiries and processing invoices.

Activities and societies: Improved my ways of using Excel, Microsoft and Word, processed and verified shipping invoices, and worked closely with customers to address shipment inquiries.

During my time as a learner, I got exposed to an environment that taught me how to deal with situations that occurred on a daily. This opportunity provided me with the ability to coordinate daily shipping operations, managing the movement of goods across international borders.

Activities and societies: Subjects included English home language, Afrikaans first additional language, Mathematical literacy, Business studies, Life sciences, Life orientation, Consumer studies, International trade.

Developed critical thinking and skills that helped me step up my learning process, communication skills as well being organised. Through comprehensive studying that also opened my eyes with what I wanted to do, this showed me that I need a challenging but a well knowable career that will push me to get out of my comfort zone.
