Neil Mittal
@neilmittal
Biomedical engineer and data scientist specializing in biostatistics and infectious disease modeling.
What I'm looking for
I am a biomedical engineer, biostatistician, and data scientist with clinical training who applies modeling, machine learning, and rigorous statistical methods to clinically relevant and public health problems. I have led bio-surveillance and infectious disease data science projects, managed cross-functional international collaborations, and developed pipelines for predicting zoonotic spillover.
My work spans postdoctoral research roles and consulting where I design analytic approaches, write algorithms in R, Python, MATLAB, SQL, and SAS, and mentor junior researchers. I have direct experience with real-world and EHR data, natural language processing, simulation, and high-performance/cloud computing.
I hold a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and an MD and have authored multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts and submissions on neuromodulation, viral serosurveillance, and computational models. I am motivated by translational research that bridges quantitative methods and clinical/public-health impact.
