I am seeking to join an organization deeply committed to racial equity, immigrant advocacy, and the protection of human rights, which centers the voices of the communities it serves and values lived experience as expertise.
Meagan Ochoa-Lagos
@meaganochoa-lagos
Bilingual political science graduate committed to equity, community voice, and human-centered policy grounded in connection and shared responsibility.
What I'm looking for
I am a bilingual political science graduate from UNC Charlotte, building a career in racial equity, immigrant advocacy, and human rights policy. My background in political science, human rights, and gender studies, along with experience in racial justice research, immigration policy, and migrant education, has shaped my commitment to equity-focused and community-centered work.
Through research fellowships and legal internships, I have conducted policy analysis, reviewed federal and state statutes and regulations, supported stakeholder engagement, and translated complex policies for Spanish-speaking clients. I have also mentored migrant background students as they navigated postsecondary pathways and accessed educational opportunities.
I am seeking a policy or advocacy role where I can strengthen my research and regulatory analysis skills, contribute to data-based recommendations and support efforts aimed at systemic reform. I am eager to grow within an organization committed to equity, collaboration, and meaningful social impact.
