At Virginia Community Development Fund, I examine community economic conditions and prepare profiles that inform investment feasibility, lending decisions, and outreach. I use census tract data, PolicyMap, and CDFI Fund mapping tools to identify communities underserved by existing capital investment.
At Virginia Commonwealth University, Wilder School, I contribute to a qualitative study of substance use and employment. I recruit participants, conduct semi-structured interviews, and assist with research writing and materials for scholarly publications.
My doctoral research at Virginia Commonwealth University examines how organizations respond to intimate partner violence among immigrant and refugee populations in Richmond, Virginia. I analyze interviews with organizational staff alongside institutional documents to understand service practices and barriers to support.
Across research roles, I have conducted field observations and interviews, analyzed focus groups through thematic analysis, and contributed to policy briefs and publications. My work has also included policy articles for the Women’s Institute for Science, Equity and Race and operational leadership at Futsal United LLC.
