I’m seeking to return to biomedical / biomechanics engineering, building on my experimental and medical-imaging background through mechanical testing, digital image correlation, and structural analysis of cardiac tissue.
Marta Raposo
@martaraposo
I build cardiac training models and deliver complex offshore engineering projects.
What I'm looking for
I developed a reusable 3D-printed cardiac surgery training model with Coimbra University Hospital and CEMMPRE, combining a rigid printed cardiac skeleton with disposable moulded valves for low-cost, repeatable surgical practice.
I reconstructed heart anatomy from CT/MRI data, processed meshes in 3D Slicer, InVesalius, MeshMixer and Geomagic, and built assemblies in Autodesk Inventor. I also dissected ex vivo pig hearts, calibrated casting materials against tissue properties, and designed suture tests to validate failure behaviour alongside cardiac surgeons and cardiologists.
At Subsea7, I coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, design and logistics teams to plan and execute subsea installations, while producing technical documentation that supports safe, on-time offshore execution.
Previously at TechnipFMC, I managed Brazilian-market projects and offshore recovery campaigns, applied Six Sigma Yellow Belt methods to remove bottlenecks, and began developing a Python script to reduce project start-up time. I’m now looking to return to cardiovascular research and build on my experimental, imaging and mechanical-testing background in cardiac tissue research.
Experience
Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, design and logistics to plan and execute subsea installations.
Develop technical documentation for offshore execution, ensuring project timelines and safety protocols are met.
Started building a script in Python to reduce project starting time.
Applied Six Sigma (Yellow Belt) methodology to identify and eliminate bottlenecks in projects.
