Marta Fiori
@martafiori
Forest and nature conservation specialist focused on participatory methods and human–wildlife coexistence.
What I'm looking for
I am a Master's graduate in Forest and Nature Conservation – Policy & Society from Wageningen University & Research, experienced in qualitative field research across Italy and Greece. I specialize in participatory methodologies, stakeholder engagement, and socio-environmental analysis in rural and Mediterranean contexts.
My MSc thesis investigated human–wildlife conflict in Trentino, focusing on local sensemaking after a brown bear incident; I designed and conducted interviews, performed qualitative coding, and produced actionable insights for conservation practice. I have delivered consultancy work for local stakeholders and institutions, combining environmental science with governance and planning.
I contributed to applied projects including a housing-corporation consultancy on green gardens and a National Park project to improve sustainable transport connections, developing stakeholder-informed strategies and public presentations. My fieldwork includes monitoring golden jackal distribution with QGIS and community-focused research on islands and protected areas.
I bring a solution-oriented, adaptive approach, strong communication and project-management skills, multilingual ability (Italian native, English C2), and experience collaborating with residents, NGOs, park rangers, and municipalities to advance conservation and sustainable resource governance.
