Maria Jose Jimenez

I am a biomedical engineer with over three years of hands-on research experience in medical imaging, EEG signal processing, and data-driven diagnostics. My work spans PET and MRI processing, EEG acquisition and preprocessing, and development of machine-learning pipelines for movement disorder assessment.

I have coordinated EEG-based clinical studies end-to-end, managing participant recruitment, consent, data collection, regulatory submissions, and quality control to ensure data integrity and ethical compliance. I also implemented a PET-based machine-learning pipeline to support diagnosis of Parkinsonian syndromes, translating imaging workflows into clinical insights.

My technical toolkit includes Python, MATLAB, SQL, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, FieldTrip, MNE-Python and Pmod, complemented by strong skills in data governance, QA/QC, and research communication. I hold two master’s degrees and a foundation in industrial engineering, which strengthen my project management and interdisciplinary collaboration capabilities.

I am GCP certified, active in professional societies, and have presented and participated in international conferences and workshops focused on movement disorders and EEG methodologies. I bring a research-oriented mindset, meticulous attention to data quality, and a track record of delivering translational solutions that support clinical decision-making.
