Mackenzie Mead
@mackenziemead
School counselor and educator who uses restorative practices, data, and SEL to help students thrive.
What I'm looking for
I’m a school counselor focused on supporting students through mental health care, academic guidance, and conflict resolution. I’ve mediated conflict using restorative conversations, managed caseloads of up to 300 students, and completed suicide assessments, safety plans, threat assessments, and support plans.
I also strengthen student outcomes through teaching—leading small group counseling lessons in Executive Functioning, Coping with Stress, and Empowerment, and creating SEL and Academic lesson plans with pre and post data. My counseling practice is data-informed, and I collaborate closely with administrators, staff, parents, and students to improve interventions and post-secondary readiness.
Before counseling, I brought the same leadership and student-centered mindset to teaching and performance, directing multiple choirs and show choirs as a Vocal Music Teacher/Show Choir Director, including budgeting and coordinating show choir logistics. I’m energized by roles where I can combine care, structure, and creativity to help young people grow.
