What I'm looking for

I’m looking to continue leading a comprehensive counseling program where I can advocate for equity, support students’ academic and post-secondary goals, and strengthen wellbeing through individual, group, and classroom guidance—collaborating closely with families and staff.

I’m a dedicated and compassionate licensed school counselor with 7+ years of experience improving student outcomes through rapport-building, equity advocacy, and collaboration with all stakeholders. I provide guidance to high school students on academic achievement, post-secondary planning, and developing coping strategies and interpersonal skills.

At Urbana School District 116 (Urbana High School) since August 2018, I lead program management by assessing needs, coordinating parent education programs, and communicating the role of the school counselor within a comprehensive counseling program. I deliver responsive individual counseling through bi-yearly planning sessions, interpret tests and student data, and support students with transcripts, college applications, and financial aid.

I also strengthen student wellbeing through group counseling and classroom guidance, including co-facilitated peace circles (Restorative Justice) and a mindfulness group, plus college and career readiness curriculum delivered through Career Cruising. Beyond direct counseling, I serve in roles such as 504 Coordinator, Act Coordinator, SAT/PSAT Coordinator, Scholarship Coordinator, and Upwardound/TRIO Liaison, while contributing to committees that support SEL, MTSS, culture and climate, and threat assessment.
