Lori Brown
@lori-salter-brown
Taxonomy & metadata specialist with deep experience designing classification systems, information architecture, and ADA-compliant digital content.
What I'm looking for
Taxonomy and metadata specialist with a background in information architecture, data governance, and digital accessibility. I've spent my career designing, auditing, and restructuring classification systems - from building a searchable archive taxonomy from scratch to resolving cataloging inconsistencies across large collections and improving retrieval and usability along the way.
My work centers on making complex information systems logical and easy to navigate: metadata architecture, controlled vocabulary design, schema auditing, and data quality standards. I also bring hands-on experience in digital accessibility (ADA/WCAG/Section 508 compliance) and AI/LLM tools, applying the same structured thinking to newer systems as I do to established ones.
I'm currently applying this background toward taxonomy, metadata, and data governance roles, and I'm comfortable learning new platforms and frameworks quickly when the underlying discipline is the same.
