Lorenna Garcia-Bochas

I'm coordinating scholarly research projects at Grand Strand Medical Center, supporting residents, fellows, and physician investigators with protocols, IRB submissions, abstracts, presentations, and project deliverables.

At Duke Global Health Institute, I researched antimicrobial resistance in low- and middle-income countries, designed and conducted semi-formal interviews for my master’s thesis, analyzed findings in NVivo, and presented results to the research team and at the 2023 DGHI Showcase. I've also supported vision-health surveillance with Prevent Blindness NC and translated community interview and screening data into project support.

My work is grounded in health equity, health systems, and implementation-focused research. I bring experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis, evidence synthesis, cross-cultural collaboration, and communicating complex findings to investigators, clinical faculty, and decision-makers.
