What I'm looking for

I'm seeking Mandarin language education opportunities where I can design engaging curriculum, support multilingual learners, connect language with Chinese culture, and continue growing through collaborative teaching practice.

I've taught geography in Mandarin to more than 3,000 secondary students at Zhongshan Overseas Chinese High School over fifteen years, designing curriculum, examinations, inquiry activities, and long-term projects across physical and human geography.

I'm now preparing to teach Mandarin Chinese in New York City through Queens College's Critical Languages Education program. My supervised teaching at J.H.S. 158 and Forest Hills High School has included lesson delivery, assessment, differentiated tasks, classroom routines, and culturally immersive learning experiences.

I connect Mandarin instruction with Chinese literature, culture, geography, history, environment, and contemporary society. I use authentic visuals, structured practice, real-life topics, and technology to build speaking, listening, reading, writing, pronunciation, and cultural understanding.

Beyond the classroom, I create and narrate Poems of China, an educational YouTube channel featuring Tang poetry, Mandarin recitation, visual storytelling, and accessible cultural explanation.
