Provided coverage across humanities disciplines and grade levels while ensuring continuity of instruction and maintaining an orderly classroom. Implemented student-centered activities within the scope of the lesson plan, such as creative writing tasks, reading circles, and interactive and/or thematic group work.

Managed online classroom with anywhere from 1-15 students at a time, using supplied curriculum and creating fun and engaging writing and reading lessons as needed. Taught ESL and ELA to students—primarily of Chinese background—focusing on language development, writing exercises, self-expression, and comprehension.

Worked closely with refugee youth in developing reading, writing, and comprehension skills through one-on-one and small group sessions using trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches.
