What I'm looking for

I am seeking roles that combine language instruction, research, and design—ideally in cross-cultural, student-centered environments where I can develop curriculum and support learner growth.

I am a multilingual educator and researcher with a strong foundation in language teaching, literature, and East Asian studies. I hold a B.A. with distinction from the University of Virginia and an M.A. with distinction in Japanese Studies from SOAS, University of London.

I have classroom experience teaching English in Japan and supporting ESL learners in the U.S., delivering tailored lesson plans and one-on-one academic counseling. I published research and received awards for projects in arts and for my MA dissertation on early Japanese socialism, demonstrating rigorous primary-source work in Japanese.

Alongside teaching and research, I practice visual communication as a freelance illustrator and graphic design intern, synthesizing research into informational graphics and supporting website design. I am TEFL-certified and proficient with Adobe Creative Suite and industry-standard design tools.

I bring a blend of pedagogical skill, cross-cultural insight, and creative design experience, seeking roles that leverage language teaching, research abilities, and visual communication to make learning engaging and accessible.
