Jon Gleur
@jongleur
Assistant Professor and virology researcher specializing in polyomaviruses, epigenetics, and cancer biology.
What I'm looking for
I am an Assistant Professor of Virology at the University of New Hampshire with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and long-standing training in polyomavirus biology and cancer-related epigenetics. My research program focuses on PRMT5, chromatin remodeling, innate immunity, and mechanisms underpinning Merkel cell carcinoma.
I have secured multiple NIH-funded awards (including R50 and COBRE roles) and lead projects on PRMT5 regulation of DNA damage response, splicing, and neuroendocrine differentiation; I am a named inventor on patent filings and an author on extensive peer-reviewed work in high-impact journals.
I contribute to the field through teaching virology and cancer courses, peer review for major journals, and participation in professional societies, and I seek to translate mechanistic insights into therapeutic strategies for virus-associated cancers.
