Joe Malanio

Senior Systems Analyst blending legacy mainframe expertise with web, quality, and delivery leadership.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Senior Systems Analyst with heavy legacy programming experience paired with web technologies, project management, and business analysis. Since 02/1999, I’ve repeatedly served in roles spanning Programmer/Analyst, Team Lead, Business Analyst, Project Manager, and Interim Director of Application Delivery and Support as needed—redesigning system processes for expediency and timely interface data delivery.
I deliver quality projects within 15% of estimated time and budget, decreased production problems by over 90%, and increased system availability by over 23%. I run performance metrics to identify batch bottlenecks, implement fixes through programming changes and simplifications, and maintain quality through internally defined QA, procurement, and implementation processes. I also lead teams (8–10 in-house and up to 17 offshore consultants) through design, development, testing, system analysis, coaching/mentoring, and performance reviews, while actively managing risk via product audits and production support follow-through. Earlier, as a Y2K Project Leader and Programmer/Analyst, I managed remediation scope, inventory/status of modified programs, and data conversion needs in high-availability MVS/TSO mainframe and Paradox for Windows environments.
