What I'm looking for
I am a seasoned trainer and advocate with over 30 years of experience in environmental conservation and sustainability management within farming systems and surrounding ecosystems. My journey has been marked by significant achievements, including founding the Zimbabwe Organic Producers and Promoters Association (ZOPPA), where I have driven the organic agriculture movement in Zimbabwe. I have conducted training sessions across several African countries, focusing on ecological organic agriculture systems for resource-poor indigenous communities.
Throughout my career, I have spearheaded initiatives that enhance agro-biodiversity and restore ecosystem resilience. My work on the Zambezi Valley Organic Cotton Project exemplifies my commitment to promoting sustainable practices that reduce dependency on external inputs. Additionally, I have played a pivotal role in developing the Zimbabwe Organic Standards and the Zimbabwe Participatory Guarantee Scheme, ensuring that organic and environmental standards are upheld in agricultural production.
As a Chief Editor of ISAN Magazine, I have been dedicated to building a strong network of informed civil society actors advocating for organic agriculture and agroecology. My extensive experience in policy implementation at various levels has equipped me with the skills to engage effectively in national policy dialogues and frameworks, promoting sustainable production systems.
