What I'm looking for

I'm looking for a remote backend or AI engineering role where I can grow fast. That could be a product with real users at scale, where performance and reliability matter, or a fast-growing product that keeps changing and hitting new limits. I enjoy turning business rules into clean backend logic, measuring before optimizing, and shipping safely on live services.

I'm a backend and AI agent engineer with 3 years of experience in Python, Django, and PostgreSQL, working remotely from South Korea (UTC+9).

At Popup Studio, I built backend systems for a government startup-support program, replacing a staff-run process with self-service for 2,222 users. I cut queries on 15 hotspot views by 81%, and brought the worst view from 683 queries to 18 by changing only its queryset.

I also designed and shipped production LLM agents for medical and logistics clients. For an eye clinic's KakaoTalk agent, I reduced cost per request by 76% and latency by 35%, while a RAG pipeline and guardrails kept patient-facing answers grounded.

Most recently, I contributed to Metaflow (Netflix, Outerbounds) through Google Summer of Code 2026. I made its metadata API about 170x faster with cursor pagination, and all five of my PRs were merged and shipped in releases.

Redesigned a metadata API on PostgreSQL with cursor pagination, cutting response time from 4,459ms to 26ms (170x), and rolled it out to all 10 list endpoints with backward compatibility. Replaced a tag cache with an event-driven refresh, reducing propagation from 4+ minutes to 96ms. All five PRs were merged and shipped in releases.
