What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a backend role where I can diagnose complex production issues, improve performance and reliability, and build clean, maintainable APIs, using observability, testing discipline, and real ownership of products and incidents.

I’m a Senior Backend Software Engineer with 7 years of backend engineering experience across law tech, large-scale e-commerce, and medical AI platform engineering. My edge is diagnosing and improving complex production systems—tracking down non-obvious bugs, resolving performance bottlenecks, and making poorly understood codebases legible and maintainable.

At Lunit, I resolved ORM and database bottlenecks (including Django REST Framework N+1 issues and PostGIS geometry serialization delays) to materially improve API latency. I led a Django 3 to Django 5 migration with zero production incidents and designed a zero-downtime production data migration using a dual-read fallback strategy. I also extracted core functionality from a legacy Django system into a new FastAPI/PostgreSQL/Redis service, making it the source of truth for oncological image data, contracts, and AI inference results.

I’ve owned end-to-end reliability work on-call across urgent incident “war rooms,” using observability tooling and log analysis to drive fast root-cause identification.

Earlier roles included crawling, ETL, data analysis, and improving and deploying an AI model in production to serve predictions through an API.

I bring a strong engineering practice focused on testing, documentation, and production-quality delivery. My strongest are in Python and Go, but I’m actually stack neutral. I can work on anything.
