Erika Fondren
@erikafondren
Special education teacher delivering math, reading, and IEP support—focused on progress, counseling, and student success.
What I'm looking for
I’m a SPED Resource Math 7/8 grade Teacher with Fort Smith Public Schools, serving since 2017 and taking on SPED Inclusion and Reading Dyslexia Interventionist responsibilities. I also coach Special Olympics events in basketball and track and field, keeping students engaged through structure, encouragement, and consistent support.
I bring strong organizational and decision-making skills, balancing many tasks efficiently while maintaining confidentiality. I document and counsel students on issues, prepare progress evaluation reports, manage daily attendance records, and anticipate needs—mediating problems before they arise. I develop tutoring curriculum and lesson plans and support IEP Case Manager and Development work.
I’m committed to reaching every learner, using diversity to support students of various ethnic backgrounds. I hold SPED K-12 Master Degree and an Arkansas Teaching License (Teaching License Obtained), along with training and certificates including CPR/First Aid and management/leadership credentials, and I’ve been recognized through district grant awards and honors like Teacher of the Year.
