What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a medical field position where my medical billing, insurance qualification, and patient account resolution skills can be further utilized, with opportunities to use my 15+ years of experience to support accurate billing and documentation.

I’m seeking a position where my skills can be further utilized in a Medical Field Environment. My focus is on medical office workflows that keep billing accurate, compliant, and on track—especially when insurance qualification and documentation are the difference between success and delays.

As a Patient Account Resolution Specialist (Remote position) with Apria Healthcare (August 2011 – Current), I qualify patients under Medicare and other insurance guidelines as needed for services and equipment. I audit medical records for insurance and other agencies, verify coverage, and work with patients and physicians to obtain the documentation needed to bill insurance.

I use insurance guidelines and ICD9/10 codes knowledge to support correct billing and patient qualification. I handle sending/receiving faxes from doctors’ offices, preparation of medical records and related documents, and maintaining suspended accounts according to goals and expectations given—while answering patient calls, completing data entry, and scheduling pickups, deliveries, and appointments.

Before that, I built a strong front-line foundation through remote reception and billing support, including answering multiple phone lines, taking messages, dispatching emergency calls, and updating accounts (Aspire2Answer, March 2011 – April 2012). I’ve also done front office reception and billing work—processing paperwork, invoicing and billing, checking insurances, calling on past due claims, faxing refills, obtaining authorizations, and balancing payment logs—along with earlier customer service and office assistant duties.
