Emily Salter
@emilysalter
Early-career technical editor turning complex public health information into accessible, standards-compliant documentation.
What I'm looking for
I’m an early-career technical editor who brings public health thinking, clear writing, and rigorous quality habits to technical documentation. I currently edit and quality-control government-sponsored emergency preparedness and disaster response materials, with a strong focus on clarity, usability, and accessibility.
Across my writing and research work, I translate complex public health topics into audience-friendly content. As a Journalism Intern and an Op-Ed contributor, I wrote and edited on global health and poverty reduction, and I also researched and analyzed HIV and methamphetamine use data in the Southern U.S. to advocate for harm reduction and awareness.
Before shifting fully into writing and technical editing, I built a foundation in compliance-focused lab work by testing under GLPs and GMPs and using data analysis to strengthen reporting accuracy. I also lead with service—volunteering as a transcriber to support underrepresented voices and managing operations as a shift lead—so I’m comfortable working in team environments where precision and trust matter.
